The Senior Leadership Program (SLP) was collaboratively designed by Yale GHLI and Management Sciences for Health (MSH) as part of USAID’s Leadership, Management and Governance Project. GHLI leads delivery of the program with the support of local academic institutions and partners. Each program is tailored to participant needs and builds faculty capacity for adoption of local programming for leadership, management, and governance in health.
The SLP was piloted with the University of Rwanda School of Public Health, which has since successfully adapted the SLP and plans to launch its own leadership, management, and governance certificate program. Following the success of this pilot program, three additional SLPs have been implemented – two in Ethiopia with regional health bureau and senior federal ministry officials, and in Tanzania in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross with delegations from Sudan, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Tanzania.
